Well, I decided do things a bit different with today’s strip. I am experimenting, so to speak. With this issue. I drew and ink the strip completely on Strathmore Bristol Vellum 100lb acid free paper. Normally, I sketch the comic on some regular sketch paper and then scan it in and ink the sketch in Adobe Illustrator. Then later use a template I made for the comic strip. It works great that way, but I was wanting something tangible to have, instead of having my strip only exist on my computer. So, I was able to produce it on the bristol board that I have. As for the word bubbles, I completely suck at writing. My penmanship is horrid. I love computers for that reason. Oh well, I am planning on doing the strips in this fashion for a while. I need to spread my wings a bit and explore different options. I have to say it looks pretty much the same on how I drew and ink it on the Bristol board. The only difficulty I came across was using Photoshop to remove the discoloration from the bristol board that my scanner scanned in. I ended using the leveling features in Photoshop to remove the bristol board’s color and the light pencils that still remained on the board. This was a first for me, because I do everything digitally using my Wacom.
